Indian Startup Plans First Orbital Computing Satellite Launch

Bengaluru, September 28, 2026 — Indian space technology startup TakeMe2Space is preparing to launch an orbital computing satellite aboard a SpaceX rocket on October 1, in an effort to process data in space rather than sending raw information back to Earth.

The company says its satellite will carry Nvidia Orin NX processors and will be launched as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-18 rideshare mission.

TakeMe2Space says it has already signed 23 customers and plans to use the satellite for applications including agriculture, mining, supply-chain management and insurance.

The company is also planning larger satellites from 2027 as it seeks to expand its orbital computing capacity.

The project reflects growing interest in processing data closer to where it is collected, potentially reducing the amount of raw data that needs to be transmitted to Earth.
